On 24 January, United Siyafunda hosted an exciting and impactful learning experience for learners in its program, marking the official launch of the Robotics Club. Learners from Soweto and Orange Farm were invited on an educational visit to the MANCOSA campus, aimed at exposing them to the opportunities presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
The visit formed part of United Siyafunda’s ongoing commitment to equipping young people from undeserved communities with future-ready skills. For many of the learners, this was their first experience in a higher-education environment focused on innovation, technology, and digital learning, making the visit both inspiring and eye-opening.
During the visit, learners were introduced to key 4IR concepts, including robotics, coding, automation, and other emerging technologies that are shaping the future of work. The session was designed to spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and inspire learners to see themselves as future innovators and problem-solvers.
This trip also laid the foundation for learners’ ongoing development of practical digital and technical skills. By beginning the program with an exposure visit to MANCOSA, learners were able to connect classroom learning with real-world applications and potential career pathways. one line intro ans hashtag
