Blog

Origin and Etymology of the word "Blog"

A blog originated from "weB LOG" in 1999 as used by Peter Merholz.

Blogs were the beginning of digital diaries and over time evolved into platforms for storytelling, commentary, and specialized discussions.

"The freedom of the press belongs to those who own the press" and blogs democratized content creation, allowing anyone with internet access to publish and share their perspectives with a global audience. Allowing people to publish without the traditional media gatekeepers, and as such became the precursor to social media platforms.
