The addition of Arts is important because STEAM is intended to be more than simply adding an arts lesson to STEM. It emphasises the creative, human and communicative dimensions of problem-solving.
We have added a particularly engaging and creative topic to the Grade 7 course of our LMS (learning management system). The learner is challenged to program a Transformer Buggy to calibrate the motors on the buggy and then to use it to code patterns and accurate geometric shapes.
