United Siyafunda is proud to announce a generous donation of 50 micro:bits from the Micro:bit Foundation, a significant boost to our mission of providing hands-on technology education across Southern Africa.

This contribution from the Micro:bit Foundation arrives at a crucial moment as we work to bridge the digital divide and expand access to digital skills in undeserved communities. By providing these essential STEAM tools, we are ensuring that more learners are equipped with the hardware they need to thrive in a technology-driven future.

The timing of this donation perfectly complemented a recent coding and robotics event hosted by United Siyafunda in Lesotho. During the event, learners were able to utilize the micro:bits in live competition challenges, gaining invaluable, hands-on experience in programming and problem-solving. For many of the participating schools, this was their first interaction with this technology, and the response was one of excitement, curiosity, and a deepened interest in STEM fields.

With these additional resources, United Siyafunda aims to:

Expand our coding and robotics programs to reach more schools across the region.

Provide teachers with practical technology tools to enhance classroom learning.

Increase student participation in STEM-focused initiatives.

This milestone reinforces our commitment to fostering the creativity, innovation, and critical thinking skills of the next generation of young innovators. Through these efforts, we are helping to ensure that every student has the tools to succeed in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
